What a guest checks before Sunday
Most first visits to a church now start on a phone, days before anyone walks in. The guest wants four things: what time the service starts, where to park, what happens with the kids, and what the service will feel like. When those answers are buried under a welcome video and a long mission statement, many people quietly decide to try again some other week.
So we design every church website around a plan your visit path first. Sermons, ministries, events, small groups and giving come next, each on its own page with plain headings.
Pastor led, not committee led
Church websites stall when ten people each own a piece of the homepage. We work with the pastor, or one person the pastor names, as the single voice for decisions. The pastor tells us what the church believes, who it hopes to reach and what matters this season. We turn that into structure and words, and the pastor reads every draft before it goes live.
Nothing about doctrine, the church story or the pastor's family is written without that review. Our job is the craft: page order, headings, speed, search and the technical setup. The voice stays the church's own.
What we built for The Potter's House Stafford
The Potter's House Stafford is Pastor Gunkel's church in Stafford, Virginia, which is why this page talks about churches beyond Florida. We rebuilt its website with dedicated pages for visiting, kids, events, sermons and Sunday School class recordings, plus pages for the North Stafford area the church serves.
We connected Planning Center events and registrations so signups appear on the site, set up Google Analytics key events for directions, phone calls, forms and giving taps, and published an llms.txt file so AI tools can read a clean summary of the church. The figures above come from Google Search Console. The full story is in The Potter's House Stafford case study.
Closer to home, we also built the website for The Door Christian Church Davie here in South Florida.
Church SEO and church marketing, in plain terms
Church SEO is mostly about being accurate and specific in the places people look, every month, with no tricks. Our free visibility check shows where your church stands today, and your score arrives within 24 hours. The ongoing work looks like this:
- ✓A Google Business Profile with the right church category, current service times, holiday schedules, real photos of the building and the people, and events
- ✓The same church name, address and phone number on the site, Google, Apple Maps, Bing and Facebook
- ✓Structured data that tells search engines this is a church, with its service times and events
- ✓Pages that name your ministries in the words people use, such as youth group, nursery, recovery or Spanish service, when you offer them
- ✓Season planning ahead of Easter and Christmas, when service time searches climb

Questions we get
Jerry answers these himselfHow to make a church website?

Start with the questions a first time guest asks: when, where, what about my kids, and what to expect. Answer those on the home page and a plan your visit page. Then add sermons, ministries, events and giving, pick a platform your staff can update without a developer, connect tools you already use such as Planning Center, and set up a Google Business Profile that matches the site word for word.
Where can I find church web designers?

Church web designers come in three kinds: website platforms built only for churches, freelance designers, and agencies. Platforms are the cheapest and leave search and Google profile work to you. FoundRank designs the site and then keeps working on church SEO, your Google profile and AI answers, so people actually find what we built.
How much does a church website redesign cost?

With FoundRank, every church gets the same plan: $399 a month to start plus a one time build, and $599 a month starting the month after we send you 10 real leads, the calls and form emails we check by hand. The build is $1,000 for most sites, or $250 with a six month commitment. A site with several campuses or many ministries is quoted up front, before any work starts.
How long does a church website redesign take?

Mostly it depends on content: photos, service details, ministry descriptions and who signs off. We agree on a launch date with the pastor once the pages are scoped and we know what the church has ready. Your current site stays up until the new one is approved, so there is no gap.
What is included in the church website package?

Design and build, a plan your visit page, pages for ministries, sermons, events and giving, connection to tools such as Planning Center, structured data, Google Business Profile setup and a monthly report. The monthly plan adds ongoing updates, church SEO and AI visibility work.
Do you need a contract or can you go month to month?

No long contract is needed. Every plan runs month to month, and a church that stops keeps its domain, its site and its Google profile.
How do you measure if the website is working?

We watch what guests do: taps on directions, phone calls, visit and event forms and giving clicks, tracked in Google Analytics, next to Google Search Console data on which searches show your church. For The Potter's House Stafford, tracked get directions taps went from 10 to 24, comparing 23 July to 20 October 2026 with the 90 days before.
Do you help with AI search and getting found in AI answers?

Yes. AI tools answer questions like which church nearby has a youth group by reading your site and Google profile. We write those facts in plain text, add structured data, and publish an llms.txt file, as we did for The Potter's House Stafford. No one can promise an AI tool will name your church, so we check what they say and report it.
Can you help us show up on Google Maps?

Yes. We claim or clean up your Google Business Profile, set the right church category, add service times, photos and events, and keep your details identical everywhere. Google Maps favors places near the person searching, so the profile does the most for people around your building, and your website carries you further out.
Can you show proof from other churches?

Yes. The Potter's House Stafford in Virginia has Google Search Console figures, each with its window, on this page and in The Potter's House Stafford case study. We also built the website for The Door Christian Church Davie in South Florida.
Do you work with churches in Florida?

Yes. FoundRank is based in Coral Springs and works with churches across Florida by video and phone, with on site visits in South Florida when a project needs one.
Should we hire a local agency or a national agency?

Hire the one that will learn your church and pick up the phone. FoundRank sits between the two: one founder you can reach directly, based in Florida, working with churches in other states remotely. Whoever you choose, ask who owns the site if you leave.
